First relic hunt with the AT Pro

I've been using the AT Pro for several years now but never really did any relic hunting until this last weekend. WOW was I impressed. I loved how it would grunt on iron but anything else was a grunt with tone. Didn't really have any fantastic finds, but was just really impressed with how fun it made relic hunting. I may need to do it more often. The only real nice find was a 3 ringer.

That looks like a lot of fun.

Three ringer's pretty cool - and is the small ball lead? Looks hand cast. (That lead sure sounds off, doesn't it?)

I guess I should have also mentioned this field has been hunted to death over the last 30+ years and finding anything is rare. That is why what seems like pretty simple stuff impressed me.

Nice relic finds for Your first AT Pro relic hunt adventure. You sound like me. I have used the Pro for about 2.50 years. I also have a CTX 3030, Excalibur II 1000, DFX, and an MXT. Seems as though the Pro is best for my hunting coins and jewelry over all of them. Do you still have your CTX? I use mine, but I have a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder and after about an hour with the CTX my shoulder is killing me. I can swing the pro all day with much less pain. I have had rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder about 3 years ago. I do not want to do it again unless I have to. The recovery from the first one was real ugly for about a year. Still not right.

What part of the country you in. I'm in the Southern Califonia inland empire. About 30 miles west of Palm Springs.

Do you do much coin and jewelry hunting? Went out his morning for about 1.5 hours. Nothing great, 3.75 in clad and a little silver bobble. I have been helping my hunting buddy with his AT Gold. He is hard of hearing and always has the sensitivity cranked up so high it sound like a machine gun going off. The Gold is much more sensitive than the Pro.

Have not found a good ring in about a month and a half. That's ok. I just like getting up and being out to watch the sun come up, and enjoy the cool mornings and the hunt. I always find something of interest. This morning it was a statue of liberty dollar.

Good luck---------Happy Hunting
