First real hunt with the CTX 3030

I've had my CTX3030 for almost a month and finally plowed thru all my honeydo's this week. I got the green light from the boss to do an all day hunt so I headed out to an old baseball field and spent the day digging quite a few targets which helped me dial in to the CTX. I've used the Etrac for the last couple of years and the transition was very smooth and enjoyable. I had a custom program which worked very well for this hunting environment. The trash is immense but the CTX was able to sniff out the goodies from the rubbish. I was running combined tones, fast on, manual sensitivity and ground coin.

Dan,

Looks awesome!

Nicely done...and welcome back to CTX land. :)

(Almost didn't recognize the 3rd merc....your ground must have something personal against silver.)

:)

Thanks Mike, the soil is very alkaline here and 99% of the time silver is a dark grey or black. War nickles usually have a black crust and read in the high 20's to mid 30's. I'm not sure what the ground phase is, but, it's brutal on coins. I have plenty of warranty on this CTX, so unless this one develops some issues like the last one, it's a keeper.

Wow wish we had a baseball field like that around here, the 2 that I go to are full of pull tabs, bottle tops, and trash, occasional pennies. Good finds man!

This one has long been abandoned, it was used in the 50's and 60's for the high school team. Word has it it was used for carnivals over the years. Now, it's just an empty lot in the middle of town, I've been hunting it on and off since 2001, it's been a good place to learn a machine in an extremely trashy site.

Great finds and a cool practice lot! Been looking for something similar near me but no luck.. yet!! I moved from the etrac to CTX about 5 months ago.. both are great machines!!

Something to say about 50s and 60s people had more money then than the 20s and 30s which means more lost coin . Nice hunt and welcome back . sube

Man, doesn't it feel good to be out enjoying the hobby? What you find is noteworthy. What you experience... the anticipation, now that is priceless.
