First real hunt with the Compadre

yesterday yielded a few old coins and some interesting objects....... the hunt started out in my driveway, making my way towards the mailbox which uncovered a few clad to include a HUGE spill of pennies to one side of the drive up near the house. my guess is that at some point an ash tray was dumped and the coins were in there as well. after a few more single coins, a couple of pencil erasers, and a couple of cable coax ends i broke for coffee.......

i went back at it in the side woods where was once an old family home site where i uncovered a few old coins to include a '27 and '51 wheat, a '61, '64 and '69 regular penny and a .'69 dime. i also uncovered a couple of .38 cal round balls and a .38 slug and a spent slug. i also found a few objects such as an old file, an old bearing race, an old door lock from an antique car and what i believe is the remains of an old buie type of knife. all in all i had a great time even though the heat and humidity was brutal. the most aggravating part of the hunt was when i was trying to chase down what i think is and old bra fastener with my pin pointer and kept loosing it.

thanks for reading and HH<Spider

Nice going! Those wheat pennies tell me that there are some silver coins hiding around there to be found.

sounds like a lot of fun , but you may be surprised someday when something really incredible comes up ,

thanks guys.

i had a great time and i'm honestly hooked for sure but i think I'm going to wait until the fall temps get here and the foliage dies out a bit before i get out and do any more serious hunting. its SOOOO dang hot/humid right now and the area is rather thick. I've learned that there is more history with my property than i realized....... further back from where I've been hunting is the remains of once was a community(roadside) privy and potentially an area where there may have been an old church. I'll have to research this further to verify this and its location. wish me luck and HH<Spider

While watching an early morning episode of my classic car i realised that the key lock i found the other day is from a 1960-1964 corvair and is the one used for the trunk and/or engine compartment lids. purdy cool huh? attach are some images i came across on the net.

Now that is cool. I once owned a Corvair Corsa and loved it. Rebuilt the engine and drove it forever.
