First real hunt with my AT Pro.:garrett:

Got out on a familiar field today, just to get the feel of the AT Pro. Balanced the ground at 75, two notches down sens. Did some detecting in Pro mode but ground was full of iron and dug up some real trash. Switched to Standard mode and discriminated 65+ just to see how it does in plucking out the good signals in trashy ground. Works great! Pulled out 6 coins, 3 of them recent Euro coins, 2 cents, 20 cents, and 50 cents, and one more still unidentified coin. The other two are a 1 Kreuzer (Austrian) 1854 "S", and a 2 Soldi (Gorizia) 1799 "S". Yay! And better news on the way. I saw the farmers cutting the nearby fields, so that means I'll be able to hunt alot easier starting next week.

Wow, you got a couple of oldies for the first time out with the A T. Good show! Would like to see those oldies. HH jim tn

Congrats on the nice digs.

Nice going. I like those European coins. Keep em coming!

Great first outing, Fabio! Those coins have been sleeping for a long time!

Well done! Great finds and post! You ever get a chance to work the beaches around Trieste?
Mud

The local beaches were very poor, just aluminum lire...
Grado produced a nice ring and lots of coins.
I tried Lignano Sabbiadoro just once, but the beach there must be full of stuff.
I don't think other detectors dug up too much there.
I enjoy the fields around Trieste alot more, especially because the topsoil above bedrock is only about 10 centimetres thick.
Anything lost there in the past has either been dug up or is still sitting there waiting for me.

Good job, Fabio. These coins are a good incentive for upcoming hunts. Using each time your AT PRO will give you more satisfaction.
Greetings from E spain

Got 1 hour done today after work. The meadow is all cut and ready for detecting.
Boy, the good targets sure ring well with the AT Pro. :)
I went back to my favourite field and plucked out an Italian Kingdom 5 cents from 1930, in excellent condition (for it's age).
I could probably dig up another 20 coins in this field, but I'm saving it for when I don't have enough time to drive or walk farther.
I have two good sites in mind, but I need more time to reach them by foot.
One thing did surprise me. A piece of rusty barbed wire rang at 81 and at 8 inches deep.
I dug a small but deep plug and that was the only thing ringing there...
Must have been the position it was in.
The Sun is strong now, even in the evenings. No wood ticks, so that's good.

That sounds like another nice find, Fabio! Do you turn on 'Iron Audio' to check targets before you dig? Sometimes, that can save some work if you aren't relic hunting. Also, you can try John Edmonton's suggestion to stomp your foot over the target, that may break the iron 'halo' effect that makes iron junk sound like good targets.
