first real finds

I've been out a few times before but never found anything besides current clad. Went out the other day to a house on some old farmland. Using my radio shack special ( I have a minelab x-terra 305 on the way) I was able to find some recent clad, a really beat up indian head, a beat up but was really excited to find 1802 large cent, a silver spoon made by palmer & bachelders with the initials EC engraved on the handle, and an old lock of some kind.

wow, been doing it ten yrs and have not found a coin within 50 yrs of that, best for me was 1869 large cent. old locks are neat. going to make a shadow box with a couple of mine, some old brass keyways, and some skeleton keys i found. a friend has a glass case end table full of stuff he found like the lock that always draws interest. congrats. you aint doing bad with the unit you have. PS dont leave the new one in hot car. make the old unit the take everywhere unit for checking, and come back with the dynamo machine you are getting.
