First let me say hello...I am a newbie to this site but have been swinging my MXT for about a year now...
Here's my first official post of finds from yesterday
Nebtrac (forum member) and I met up for detecting yesterday somewhere in central Nebraska. Before I tell you of my finds, I must say to make sure to watch for Nebtrac's post of finds. It will draw a lot of hits.
The day started off with me finding a 1916 wheat penny. So I was pretty excited, but the day got much better. I quickly followed the wheat up with a beautiful 1918 Mercury dime. Then not to be outdone, a 1903 Barber half-dollar was unearthed, breaking my previous oldest find record by 8 years. I continued to hunt and, lo and behold, I pulled out a 1920D that is in really good condition. Soon after I found a 1909 wheatie. Unfortunately no VDB or S mint mark. In the same hole I was able to break my oldest coin record by 4 more years when I pulled out a 1899 Indian Head penny; my first Indian head and first find in the 1800s. The day ended with me finding another 1920D. All of this in a farmer's old field. I'll leave the history of the field to Nebtrac and leave you in suspense of his finds. Trust me, you will want to see one of them.
