I was Haleiwa boat harbor and A friend of mine told someone had lost a wedding ring earlier and could I try to find it. I went looking for the couple and didn't find them, I told my friend I would get my gear and return .i returned an hour later and as I was setting up I was approach by the couple. They pointed out the area and I went in the ocean, the whole beach just happen to know what was going on and watching. After about 10 min of looking I got a new tone and put scoop in the water and bang there was the ring, I handed it to the guy and he started jumping up and down in the water and the whole beach stood up and was clapping, I turned bright red and exited the water to pats on back and hand shakes. The couple keep thanking me and I told them that this is what metal detector do, it's not all about being greedy like tv, we are alway there to help when needed. They offered me $200 and I said no need just glad I could help find the ring. About half hour later a friend of theirs approached me and said that it is their custom to reward people that do good deeds for them and it is a insult to turn it down so please take the reward. They reproached me and offered me money again, I only took $100 told them it was plenty. This was my first platinum ring with my CTX 3030 and a great experience for me.

Great work! What kind of signal did it give?

Another fine testimony for those who are "in this hobby" for the right reasons. Congrats on making the recovery, and for sharing the story. HH Randy

It was a signal I never heard before, like aluminum foil but not as deep, I think it was 15.12 not sure but that sticks in my mind. There was a lot of people yelling and celebrating when it happened. I was just glad to let people know there is more then just finding and selling things that we do. I was using my 17inch coil in the water when I found it, thank god the big wave season in Hawaii was over. Mahalo everyone and thank for the help I have been given on here so far.
