First Outing with the Whites Eagle Spectrum 2 hrs

I figured I would post a message boasting on the Whites Eagle Spectrum. To be honest I thought only the Eagle Spectrum Pro had the back light this detector rocks. The second dig a sterling ring the sixth dig a silver ring. I found about a dollar and a half in change but the rings were more impressive to me. Not having a chance to program anything special I opted for the coin & jewelry mode. Great to have a detector that offers so much and continues to hold its ground against the big boys.

Very nice..... I still have my old Eagle Spectrum and put it into service every now and then.

Thanks for the reply, so was I wrong in thinking only the Eagle Spectrum Pro has a back light ? I may be confusing the Eagle Spectrum with another of Whites detectors! Thanks again for your reply have you found any gold rings with you Eagle Spectrum?

The Eagle Spectrum does have a backlight .... The backlight on mine is out and one day when I am heading up the Sweet Home I will take it along and have it repaired, but it really is of low priority right now.

Started with the Eagle Spectrum back in 90-91, loved it. Moved up to a lighter unit this year,I got old and outta shape. I'm not sure the new unit actually detects metal in the ground any better than the Spectrum does, but I can swing it for hours, plus it's waterproof. I still consider the Spectrum my favorite, and it's gonna stay with me as a back-up, or second unit to use, if a friend wants to give detecting a try. Artie
