I took my "new" T2 for a test spin today. It is quite the chatter bug! (but I already knew that). I ran with the sensitivity around 68 and the discrimination around 25 I think. It picked up some foil and a lot of tiny buckshot . I was able to tell bottlecaps and junk pretty easily, but I dug it just to be sure.
What really impressed me is the depth I was finding targets at in difficult soil. The sand is very iron rich. So ferrous that it is orange below the surface. I got a Wheatie that was 11 inches down and sounded pretty solid.
I can see why this is a tough detector for someone who is new to the hobby. I definitely would not recommend it for that, but for someone who understands detectors it is a winner.
