First Outing with the T2

I took my "new" T2 for a test spin today. It is quite the chatter bug! (but I already knew that). I ran with the sensitivity around 68 and the discrimination around 25 I think. It picked up some foil and a lot of tiny buckshot . I was able to tell bottlecaps and junk pretty easily, but I dug it just to be sure.

What really impressed me is the depth I was finding targets at in difficult soil. The sand is very iron rich. So ferrous that it is orange below the surface. I got a Wheatie that was 11 inches down and sounded pretty solid.

I can see why this is a tough detector for someone who is new to the hobby. I definitely would not recommend it for that, but for someone who understands detectors it is a winner.

glad your liking your new machine a wheat at 11 inches thats way better depth than i get here on the west coast, the chatter your getting is most likely emi theres some spots next to the schools where i run my t2se in all metal mode because of emi you can also try changing the freq sometimes it will help, in disc mode try using 1+ tones disc at 21 dig everything that comes in in the mid 30s and higher and that pinpointes good i get alot of nickels that are deeper that will read in the 30s to mid 40s the t2 is a nickel killer my best day i got 31 in six hours good luck and hh

i've only had emi issues a few times and raising the disc. eliminated it. wouldn't it be worse in all-metal than disc. thanks

i guess it could depend on the source of the emi my best advise is next time you encounter heavy emi area try all metal with the sense around 50 , see if it works better than disc mode hh
