Today was my first day in the water in a month. Hooked up with my Buddy CJ in what I would consider less than favorable conditions. In fact , at one point CJ came up to me and said, " we have to be nuts to be out here", and he was right.
It did settle down a little for a short time but not much, then it picked back up and it was dicey.
Today was the maiden voyage for the Skullies OBN made special for my DFPI. He has made them for the Excalibur and Sovereign GT for those fortunate enough to be on the list of ten that were to test them. As far as I know ALL reports have come back favorable.
I am the only one that has tried them on the DF and let me say, today I heard more faint targets than I have ever heard before. Also, most were deep targets today only because I was focusing on faints and it paid off.
The 1942 class ring that I thought was a 1926  ( don't ask how I could get 1926 out of 1946 but that's what happens when you don't wear your glasses ) was a very faint sound. I recovered it after about four scoops but estimate it was about 12"-14" down.
The two silver dimes were also deep and the one that is now disintegrated was down a couple scoops. Just by the age of some of my targets tells me I was getting down where I want to be.
Also, notice the lack of junk compared to good targets...another first for me. I know all days aren't gong to be like that, but it's a good start.
The big difference (for me) is the Skullies have a high frequency and I could hear the faint targets a lot better. Someone without a hearing problem might not like these because they may be to noisy for some people. I can't argue with the results and these are just what the doctor ordered.
Many thanks to OBN, you have opened a whole new area for me to hunt. All the places I have hunted will be new game for me and I am really excited about that.
