First Outing With CTX-3030

I got out yesterday morning for 3 hours and 4 minutes of detecting time, according to the Geohunt feature on my CTX-3030. I probably made the mistake of going to one of my "hunted out" sites, which returned very little. I think I would have been better off at the local elementary school where I would have had many different targets at many different depths.

I probably paid too much attention to the target ID numbers, passing over a few that I now think I should have dug. Things like 30-42 at 10 inches. I also forgot to try the Findpoint feature.

In my experience, it's always a bit frustrating trying a new detector the first few times out, however I did find a 1918 Wheatie, a flat button and a "whatizzit".

It's all a learning experience. At least you got your GEO hunt activated and working. I haven't even tried mine yet.

Nice finds Neil. You covered a lot of ground in 3 hours Neil you must have been cold. HH :minelab:

Luckily it was cold enough so it wasn't raining, but the snow was coming down pretty hard for a while!

I wouldn't worry about that 30-42 signal you passed by. Seems like you had the screen wide open which initially would make a little more confusing being the first time out. Most desirable objects have a FE range of 10-14, so a 30 is most likely going to be iron in content.
Maybe now with your new toy you will find those elusive Henning Nickels with your CTX.
