First Mission in the Water (Valentines Mission) (2015-02-15)

Yesterday i hit the water, not to much there so head to the next beach, as i wander into the water i notice a guy looking at me then talking to what turns out to be his wife, there were out about 25 meters.
I forget about it and get my eyes fixed onto the water below :) After about ten minutes i notice a shadow approaching in the water and look up. The guy asks how water proof the device is and then tells me he lost his wedding ring. I am thinking here we go, when did you lose it (thinking the usual answer, years ago on this beach).
He says about 20 minutes ago, i think OK (this is it your first rescue mission, strap on the big boy pants :) how deep and do you have an idea of where you where, what where you doing for it to come of ?
I got him, his wife and two son's to mark out an area they thought, from there i expanded it by about 3 feet squared and they stayed they bobbing in the water.
I started to grid across, no luck a 50 cent, then grid up and down, no luck, then i remember him saying he could only stand on his tip toes. he was not a tall person tide was on the in for the last hour.
I move my grid line back and first sweep PINGGGG nice solid sound, check the screen 12:06 top left of the screen. I ask what size is your ring again ? He replies white gold thin band no markings. My answer is, like this one i have my scoop ;)
In total about 30 minutes to locate it.The family were extremely happy and could not thank me enough. they offered money but hey it was enough to see all there faces and on Valentines day happy and relieved.
Sorry no pics i did not want to get all the way out of the water and back to the car ETC. the memory and feeling after it will never leave me :)

cheers

:)

Nice job, sir. I found a lifeguard pin for a female guard on the beach at Manley years ago.. The way the lifeguards crowded around me to thank me left me with a feeling I will never forget.

Nice recovery...i had a simular recovery this past year and i can tell you i have fond memories of that moment i became there hero as they were very grateful. ... congrats.....
