First metal detector.

the 1236X2. I always felt that was a good machine to learn on. Plenty of performance and if you are willing to spend the time it can do a lot. However, now that the Id Excel is out I have kinda changed my mind on that one. <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> Smooth and capable are two good adjectives to describe the Excel. For ease of use along with great performance it is easy to recommend.

id excel because i love fisher but to be fair the garret ace 250 is working great for my wife and thats her first detector
her first silver coin was a barbers dime
but if fisher is your choice than the id excel is great
 
Both are very easy to learn & both have the power to "Hunt with the big boys" <img src="/metal/html/wink.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=";)"> HH, Bill
