It's an amazing feeling to go out and concentrate on finding a Mercury Dime...and then finding it!
This is one of my goals for 2008 ... an SLQ being the other one (and a lifetime goal of a GOLD Coin).
My spot is just 1/2 mile from home. This was in muddy soil that periodically gets wet (tides) so the condition is not bad (BEAUTIFUL to MY eyes!). It was 4" deep. When it came out part was silvery and I could just barely make out the wings. I had to remember to BREATH again because I was holding my breath. I stuck it in my pocket but could not really concentrate hunting more so I packed it up and went home.
I cleaned it with a vinegar and salt soak and then a baking soda rub. Not sure how to get the stain off but for now I am HAPPY!
My F4 sounded off at a solid 74. I'd found wheaties here so wasn't positive if it was my Merc or wheatie.
