first mercury dime and two wheat's

yomero

New member
I found my first mercury dime and two wheat penny's at a old house were my son's best friend leaves,
there is a lot of junk in the ground so I decided to try the 5 inch coil of my F-75 LTD,
I found all the coins in the picture, the mercury dime was the third coin I found reading was jumping from 74 to 75,
I did the hunt at about 9:00 P.M for about 40 minutes really nice to have the display back-lite in the F-75 LTD and also I was using the whites bullseye II as flash-light and as pin pointer.
I have the F-75 LTD listed on craigslist and a person interested in buying it wants to see it tomorrow,
I am going to call him in the morning to let him know that it's not for sale anymore,
also I was interested to trade it for another detector,
I was kind of disappointed with the F-75 performance until today that I tried it with the 5 inch coil,
the bigger 11 inch coils was picking up a lot of noise from the junk
same think with 11inch coil the e-trac,
last week I found 2 wheat's and some clad with the E-trac but no silver, it's nightmare to pinpoint with all the junk,
but, not anymore with the 5 inch coil.

I'm keeping the F-75 LTD.

If I may suggest something Sir. On both detectors you mentioned.. Try lower sens with the larger coils. And of course use that great little 5" coil on the F75 when ever you can.

I am glad your going to keep the F75.. It will give you many many great finds.

On the F75 you can go as low as 40 and be pleasantly surprised at the depth you will find coins using the 11"DD coil
