First Merc-White Gold and Soccer pins

Treasure Mike

New member
Found my first Mercury dime last week at a park in Seattle. They sure come out of the ground shiny compared to the clad coins. It was down about 3 inches and hit at 82 on the VDI meter. The white 14 K gold wedding band (4.5 grams) registered at a solid 16. No variation between sweeps. One thing I have found is that most rings have little or no change in VDI readings with multiple sweeps of the coil. Now I am sure that it is not the case on deep targets, but almost all of the targets I dig are 4 inches or less in depth. Also, here's my collection of soccer pins I have found this last year. Thanks for looking! Mike

Good stuff!!! :beers:

The dime is in great shape....and the ring is LIKE NEW!!!

I usually hit silver dimes at 77-78 VDI....quarters at 83-84. Maybe a difference in mineralization. We are swimming in black sand around here. (Southern Arizona)
