First land detector: X-t 70 versus 705 - your thoughts

Hello - I have an Excal that i use on the beach. Was looking into a mid-priced land machine.
First looked at Teknetics Omega w/11" DD and now I was recommended to look at the X-t 70.
Then I see that the 705 has added some improvements to the 70. I like the light weight as the wife can use it too.
I will using it for coins in NY area parks, schools, etc (70%) AND using it at the Long Island beaches - wet and dry sand - not in the water.
What have you guys found?
For a first-time dirt digger but Minelab BBS lover - do I need to go up to the E-trac to be truly happy?

i went to the 705 from the 505 and there is a big difference with some of the options,it does go deeper and when i switched to the 705 i found my first 2 mercs and an indian head in the first day!plus having the prospect mode is a bonus IMHO.you will love the 705.
