Despite it only being 30 degrees out and 13 mph winds....I still had to give it a try. A Eastern wind blew the icebergs out from shore in a area I hunt so desided I would brave the 33 degree water for a while. It was cold, but I stayed warm for almost an hour and a half. Then my feet and hands started getting cold, 30 minutes later I called it quites. Did not find much, but did not get skunked. When I come out the water and started taking my waders off I had to chuckle at all the ice on me and my equipment. The waders had a ice ring around them near my waistline. My scoop handle had ice on it, my finds pouch had about 1/8" ice built up on it and the old AT-Pro had the most ice buildup, nearly a 1/4" at the thickest buildup. Never the less, I still had fun...I needed a detecting fix bad When I hit the pull tabs and the nickle...the blood got to flowin, but alas...no gold, maybe next time.
