Well I have only had this detector for a week and only have gotten to hunt with it for less than 2 hours due to work and other responsibilities. I am coming from an Etrac so the numbers and screens are somewhat familiar to me. I can say I love the detector, it seems more ergonomic than my Etrac did and very well balanced. I have got out with it twice. The first time it came a downpour only minutes into the hunt turning everything to soup and ending the hunt, thank goodness for the waterproof feature. Only got 4 clad coins in about 10 minutes. And yesterday got out again for about 20 minutes and got 2 clad coins and a token. Researching the token I came upon this article about it and if you have time you should read it, it's less than a page and a good read, intersting to me anyway:http://www.coinbooks.org/esylum_v11n48a20.html. I have attached some before and after photos of the token.
I already know when the fall gets here and I get some real time on this machine I am going to love the results!! p.s. I hunted my yard which isn't old at all with this machine just as I have all my previous land detectors, about 5 of them, and the last 2 detectors I was unable to find any coins. Well I got a 12-36 at 5 inches and pulled out a nasty zinc penny with a piece of rust actually STUCK TO IT!!! Yea it's a meaningless zinc, but, it shows me the potential of this detector as my Etrac and previous detector had missed it completely and I know I went over the area with them because it was adjacent to my sidewalk in my front yard that I always hit hard with a new detector!! I am impressed with the CTX! Thanks for looking and HH!
