A few days ago, one of my friends took me to his great-great aunt's old homeplace. Then, he left, so he could show a fellow co-worker his deer camp. A few minutes after he left, I dug up a 1944 Wheat penny, using my SE. Then, a few feet away from an old oak tree, I dug about a six-inch hole and saw another penny at the bottom of the hole. But, when I picked it up and saw a laurel wreath, then a shield above the words, ONE CENT, I got excited! I knew then, without looking at the front, that I had found my first Indian Head penny using my Minelab Explorer SE. I prayed that it would date back in the 1800s. But, it was not to be; at least not that day. It was dated 1904. It's not the VERY FIRST Indian Head penny I've found with a metal-detector. But, it IS the first I've found with my SE. And, that makes it more special - at least, to me! The photos aren't very clear. But, I thought you might like to see my find, anyway.
