First impressions of the G2

I've heard good things about this detector so I thought I would give one a try. Pretty easy to setup and easy to use. I ground balanced the unit set the disc at 40/ sens at 100 and was on my way. I found several wheat's and a merc on my first trip out. Depth was okay on high conductors and excellent on low conductors. I know it's a gold machine but I like how it locks on to coins. No EMI issues. For me detecting is about finding goodies and enjoying the detector you are using. I can say that using the G2 has been a pleasure. I was using the 11 inch coil and will be using the 10DD soon.

Yes! This detector is a joy to use. I have the 10dd I love it the short time I have used it. I think it's well worth getting. It has a long cord and I will be in the water mine too with the box in small backpack. I look forward to see what Teknetics comes out with using the dual processors making them run so very quiet. That's one of the things that I really like about this detector. You can listen for that very tiny high tone on deep targets. I'm starting to switch to all metal to check those out now.

Springs not far off now. It finally started snowing in Michigan. Not that I want any.

Try running about 19 disc in the nails where you can here the grunts of iron with a high tone bleating through with the five inch DD.Ive dug 1800s coins laying on top and aside of nails this way.I.D. will be compromised somewhat and a roofing nail will occasionally pop up but managed to dig at least a half dozen finds in a supposed hunted out area 40x40.The key is to allow disc low enough to here grunts instead of bringing disc level above nails where there is no audible response this machine has opened new territory in the nails cellar holes ext. having a faster processor.,,,,,,,,,CEDAR

Good post!
The G2 and Fisher gold bup dp are some of THE best machine in iron out. The dual processors are amazing with recovery and speed. Excellent machine for non nonsense hunting!

What? No 5 inch DD coil?
