First Ice and First Fake Ice on same ring!

The second target I dug on Friday scared the heck out of me! My buddy Dave tested the stones. 8 small diamonds are real and solitaire is an obvious fakey and appears to have been an addition to the original ring. I haven't weighed her yet, but she's heavy and the only mark I can find inside a small triangle appears to read "BDE". Found the 14K white gold about an hour later and then the St Anthony medal an hour later. I'm intrigued as to why anyone would mess with such a nice-looking ring - the photo doesn't show this, but the solitaire isn't even mounted perfectly square. It almost looks like a men's band that was turned into a garish monstrosity. I might have the solitaire removed and replace the missing 9th diamond with an onyx. Thanks for looking, all the support, and Happy Holidays! - ziphius

Gotta get myself a gold-testing kit! Didn't ever think I'd have a need for one! Hope your gold 'drought' ends soon. 22 days takes it toll...:)

TY ziphius, I am feeling the effects of LACK-O-GOLD! Yes, every pirate needs a gold test kit and be sure to get the silver test acid too. Never hurts to even check the pieces that are marked, as every now and then, you will find a scallywag in the bunch mate! Get one!
