The guy in the brown truck delivered my new E-Trac Friday night, and I hit a few tot lots on Saturday to test it out. While I didn't find any gold, this time, I am confident it will do fine. This was one of my concerns since I hunt mostly tot lot gold during school season. I found a 925 silver ring 3" deep in the mud below the wood chips. This would be a ring we had missed on previous hunts. The E-Trac did fine all finding the small stuff.
Sunday I took the E-Trac to our local park that has been pounded to death to see if the E-Trac would stand up to its reputation. I purposely took it to a location where I know it has been hit hard. The new detector delivered as expected. I pulled a 1901 Indian Head, a 1945 merc, a 1920 and 1940 wheat, a ring and a small gold earring. I was very impressed at how loud the mercury dime was. It darn near blew my headphone off, and was a good 8" deep. The small gold earring came in at a FE 13 and CO 1. I am running a pattern pretty much wide open with the exception of some bars at the lower iron range.
