first hunt

Picked it up today and brought it to a park built in the 80's didn't expect much old just an opportunity to get it out and see what she can do. I thought the depth would be better than it was, I found a dime signal with my E-trac with a slight coil lift would disappear, I then tried the CTX and the signal was stronger and I was able to lift the coil approximately WNW inch before it would disappear. The target was a clad dime around seven inches deep. The settings were coin, auto plus two target trace on, deep on, target sizing, recovery fast, ground trashy, These are the same settings with the E-trac with the exception of auto plus three. My initial estimate is this machine is about ten percent deeper on a dime signal than the E-trac.

The balance is a huge improvement. I tried the wireless headphones and could not get the machine to find the wireless set, I have to admit I read the directions quickly as I wanted to get out-perhaps operator error?? I have a set of Grey Ghost Ultimates that I love. I will try and get some videos showing side by sides as I gain experience.

Thanks for sharing. Pairing the wireless module is no big deal. There are several threads on here how to do it and if you have any problems, feel free to ask and we will get you on the right track. I am glad you are getting along with your CTX and I hope to hear more good news and see some of your finds. HH -Marc

I understand why I could not pair my wireless headphones-operator error. You must push and hold the right black button till it pairs up. Bringing it out tomorrow in an old trashy park where my E-trac nulled, I will record any good finds.
