First Hunt

Went on my first hunt today in snow flurries no least. My grandson got off school bus so we had to try out our new Tesoro Vaquero. Hit targets right off in his back yard of a farm house from the 1850's. First find was a 4 inch rock that sounded good. He is going to bust it later. Second find sounded good and was a 40 S&W empty pistol case. So we know it works good and had to quit it was too cold and windy. His back yard is just loaded with targets everywhere. Will do later when a little more fit weather. It was a fun fisrt hunt.

When you get back out, if you know where original front and back doors and side walks were located, look around there with the metal detector. I have also had good luck around where old cloths lines were known to have been.

And yes it sounds like a good start for you and your grandson.

Oh there is no problem going back. It's my son's house on my farm I bought years ago. It's only 600 ft from my new house. No clothesline. But just walking thru the back yard today there where hits everywhere. But with snow and wind it was miserable and cold. Can't figure out that hot rock tho.

If you set your ground balance right, you can knock them out if there are too many of them.
Find a hot rock, ground balance ontop of it.

Sounds good MK,

You and your grandson will probably have stuff all over tha
place before long. lol

It's nice to have young people share in your fun.

Practice with tha hot rocks and tha ground balance. You
should be able ta find a settin where you can manage tha
hot little buggars.

I was learnin my ground balance in a tot lot and found a
mineral rock.

To my supprise it was Iron Pyrite ( fool's gold ).

Ya just never know what you're gonna find.

That makes it even a better hobby.

Tha supprises just keep commin.

HH,
