I had picked up a near mint X2 just other week, sent it off to Tesoro for a tune up.Wasn't getting the depth that it should be getting after testing it and talking to Troy Galloway.Anyhow got it back Fri,and was going to take it out yesterday but...didn't get up early enough to beat the heat 95 degrees..But we had thunderstorms yesterday afternoon enough to moisten the ground some. So I got up crack of dawn this Sunday morning,it was cloudy and overcast, looked like it was going to rain more... said to my wife I'm not going out,and she said try it out at least Little bit,and I said OK....Well I set disc at 2.5 and cranked sens. all way up to 8 and went hit local park within walking distance here. In this park I had found sterling silver ring, men's silver necklace chain.... in sports field. A tungsten men's wedding ring around basketball court.i decided to hit around basketball court. Fresh clad etc has ben being dropped in grass there as they sit and rest in grass lay clothing down etc.And its where I found the Tungsten wedding band.Started off good 2 dimes in first good signal, two fresh quarters laying on top grass etc. I was also trying out the coin check feature it was working well on pulltabs. But I was still checking signals it would cancel out.Got some nickels and pennies by digging after using coincheck.... Got to dig those pulltab signals my silver necklace found read pulltab on a TID detector.. Quarters with X2 come in real loud, dimes medium loud ,pennies and nickels alot lower sounding almost iffy but still xing good enough to check.. i had made a circuit around grass court once. And was walking over a trashy section not actively swinging when detector did aloud enough blip as coil passed over something. I looked down and saw just a hint of gold color of a fine gold chain barely showing in grass. If X2 hadn't bleeped I would never saw it. pulled up chain and low and behold a nice gold design cross.... The clasp on chain was open and it wouldn't have taken much for cross to have come off chain, The only reason the X2 sounded on this was because of the little metal link on the cross that chain slides through.Running coil over chain its self gave a raspy iffy signal.Though I had tested the X2 in house and it did pick up a 14 kt ring enough to investigate the sound.. Either way i finally broke that gold barrier I was due!!!!. Now if i can find my first silver coin ,,my first wheat penny .....
