First hunt with the Titan 3000xd (6/20)

Got my new metal detector yesterday, and I tested it out bright and early this morning. I went to an old park where kids used to hang out and drink in the 70's and 80's. I ended up finding lots of bottle caps and pull tabs, 5 quarters, 10 dimes, 1 nickel, and 16 pennies for a total of $2.46. All clad. My oldest was a 1967 penny. Not too bad for the first time out. I wasn't expecting much, just wanted to get a feel for the detector. I did learn 2 things. The plastic digging tool that came with the detector is trash. I almost have blisters on my hands from trying to break through the tough ground with it. I'm also considering buying a pinpointer just to make locating my target. I am going to go out early tomorrow morning to a little league field to see what I can find. I'll post my findings. HH

Good going on your first hunt. With a little experience you will be digging fewer holes. I suggest you dig everything at first to become one with your machine.

I agree, it's the only way to get to know how it talks to you. All the trash will seem like nothing when you get your first gold.

Very nice finds for a first hunt with the 3000....If your finding the coins now, you will only get better with time...
