First hunt with the g2 today

Jason in TN

Took it relic hunting in a pounded spot did not find a huge amount of stuff but found more than most hunts here. Got one pice of large lead that was big enough to be a bullet but it was melted. What amazed me is how sensitive it is to small targets. Dug a few flat buttons and a bunch of small pieces of lead. One flat button was tiny. Some of the targets were pulled out of places that were covered in iron. I think I am going to like it a lot for certain areas. Man the G2 is quite could run sensitivity at 100 most places even right buy electric cattle fences that drive my F75 crazy. With it and the F75 I think I am covered for relic hunting. Dug a couple of small pieces of brass at really good depth too.

which coil you used? I know the stock 11" DD can pluck some good stuff in some trashy environments, but the T2 or F75 can handle that need as well. I like what the G2 does with the 11" coil at the beach and a couple of more open sites I've been working, but when I got into some trashy and tough-to-hunt sites where my T2 and Omega had started to struggle, I slapped the 5" DD coil on the G2 and targets came my way! :)

Do you have, or have you used, the 5" coil? Like you, I am also able to run the G2 virtually anywhere and everywhere (except 1 spot) at maximum Sensitivity. Very impressive detector for certain tasks, to be sure.

Monte used a little of both found some rubber washers and a bolt that will work until I get my other rod and hardware shipped. Pain in the but to change them out though.
After hunting with the F75 a good bit the G2 is scary quite and stable at max sensitivity. Have you used all metal much did not try it today have read a couple post that say it is much deeper. On some air test I could not tell a lot of difference in depth that would read on the ID.
