First hunt with my new compadre

Goes4ever

New member
I bought my compadre to hunt fields with, and I do not have any of my new fields that are harvested yet, but one I have pounded over last 2-3 yrs was cut so I wanted to give the compadre a try. I did not expect much as this site has been hunted several times by me and several friends. First coin EVER with my new machine was a "holed" 1916-S wheat, also got a 1909 wheat, an aluminum bank token (both sides are the same) and a button. I am more than happy to get ANY keepers from this site, the compadre performed SMOOTHLY in the heavy iron.

Some good finds there,GFE

The Compadre is a great detector in iron, a bargain too at $160, WTG !

What a great first day out with your new Compadre.:detecting:

I was concerned on which coil would be best in the fields....the 5 3/4" or the 8".........., was debating......wasn't sure if the 8" would still be good in the iron, but I knew it would cover more area in a large field. Well the 8" worked perfectly well in the heavy iron, both wheats were right in the heavy iron patch and it sounded off on them loud and clear!!!

Nice hunt Goes4ever. What sort of depth are you getting with the 8" model? I've been thinking about one of those too also for hunting my farm fields.

The compadre sure is fun to use. How was the depth on the coins? You just might get HOOKED on that detector.. Have fun with it... KEN

Very cool finds for your first day. Don't ever make the mistake of selling that Compadre they are a must for every level of detectorist IMO
