First hunt with etrac

Hey guys. Received my etrac Friday and went out Sunday to my local park that's been hit pretty hard. Didn't find too much because I was doing what y'all suggested which was to dig every repeatable signals. Did find two pennies(clad) one was over 6 inches. Also found two ww1 strap buckles at 8 inches! Not bad for a first time etracer! So I went to the same park yesterday to try ttf. Man was that diffrent! Think I could get used to it though. One question, I got a higher signal bouncing around amongst the iron. Not a real good one but repeatable enough to dig. Ended up being a nail at 8 inches. Can this happen in ttf? I read that if I blocked 1-01 to 1-31 this will eliminate the falsing. I was running in relic mode with ttf settings. Any experiences with this? Or suggestions? Thanks!

Ok when you got the high tone, did u turn 90 degrees and still get a solid high tone....not a broken scratchy tone, but a solid tone?

I can bet you didnt get a solid two way signal.....that is the best way to tell if it a ferrous item or conductive

Nails or iron in general will sometimes give an 01 on the ferrous side but the conductive will look good and the sound might be OK. Switch to Quick mask and watch as you go over the target. When you get to the far side of the target you will see a 35 ferrous. Oh and iron is a bugger in the 8 or 9" range. I notive here in my area if the target depth is close to buried you will find a coin more often.

I did turn 90 but was running in ttf one side sounded ok and the other side little iffy. But I'm around iron. Have you dug nail s in ttf?
