First hunt with Beach Hunter 300

Flintstone

Well-known member
Will today was my first water hunt with the BHID 300, well my first water hunt ever. Boy it is harder than land hunting, you guys that are like me, wait till you try swing that coil under water for an hour and then try to dig something that you can see where it is at after the first scoop of sand and dirt. You better learn to do the one leg stand and hold the detector in one hand a scoop in the other and use your foot to push in the sand. But other than can,t hardly walk, can,t stand up with pain, back thinks it is broken again, " YES i said again" but i loved it. frond about a box of bobby pins, more pull tabs than in a trashy park. That was ok i did find a nice 925 ring with stone. Will try to have a friend post some pictures of it, not much money, nickle and adime and some Penny's, best fun i have had with my close on in a long time. Now i am ready to move to a beach some were. FUN FUN FUN, Flintstone

I know the pain, but it don't matter cause all you can think about is the next trip..almost like your second date at 16

Good Luck....

Don't worry the pain just gets worse and every trip gets more enjoyable....I just bought a BH 300 used and sent it to White's in FL
to be repaired and checked out....coil is bad, but that is ok I got a good deal on it....getting a straight shaft made for it....I have been
using a Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II pi machine and loved it but wanted to try something else....how do you like the 300??? did you
hunt in all metal mode???? I haven't got to use mine yet but am looking forward to it....I don't know what scoop you have but
check out the T-Rex, man does it ever work great....I have used mine for the last 2 summers and wouldn't trade it for any other.
I have heard a lot of good remarks about the bh 300 and hope that I can eliminate digging some of those bobby pins (should be
a law against selling those things) With the PI machine I had to did everything, so I hope that the 300 will eliminate some of that.
Only time will tell as I am accustom to digging all targets, it may be hard to stop. Anyway, lots of luck with the 300 and let us know
how it does.

God Bless You and This Great Country of Ours,

Hi eeK, Well yesterday was my first hunt with the BHID 300, but already can tell i am going to like it. I was hunting in all metal. The lights work in all metal also, but i dug everything to get the hang of what it will tell you. It is dead on when you hit iron, it flashes red, i dug some of it just to see if it was iron and every time it was. The yellow is for foil and pull tabs, but you can get rings there also. That is where the bobby pins comes in to, that is why i dug alot. The ring that i got came in in green because it hit like a dime, but has a better sound, nice and sweet. Maybe after a few hunts i can quit digging alot of trash and trust the detector more. I also have here that it will change from all metal to discretion . I did hit it once with the head phone cord and change it, so maybe a rubber ban around it will help. I am going to chest mount it next time and maybe it will help the load on the arm. I think you will like it once you get started hunting with it. Good luck Flintstone

One thing that I have noticed is that folks who are new to water hunting do is trying to swing the coil as fast in the water as they do on dry land. Wears you out in a hurry. Slow down a little and you will last a lot longer and more time on the coil means more good finds and more pleasure. Good Luck.

Flintstone, if you tie a 1/4 rope about 2 foot long to your detector and then to your wrist you will find it is easier to dig with 2 hands.

Thanks guys, for all the help, i will try the rope thing, i know it is hard to hold the detector and dig at the same time. Flintstone

Good Hunting! Yeah, those bobby pins are frustrating, but at least they tell you there were women at this spot, and they are the ones that wear and lose most of the Gold!

Finding the top to a bikini took me back to a day at the beach as a young man. The beach was crowded and the surf was awesome for body surfing. A young lady in her 20's was bowled over by a wave and tossed around in the surf. When she stood up and faced the crowd on the beach, she realized that her bikini bottom was down around her ankles. Obviously embarrassed as all hell, she turned her back to the crowd, bent over and pulled up her bikini oblivious to the fact that she had just full-mooned about 1,000 people! Now that was a find!
