First hunt of the year.

I kind of thought this was a pretty good start for the year.
Just a note about the sea shells, bottles and whatnot's were all buried inside hollow area at the base of a tree. I am nowhere near a beach.
The Washington quarter was my first coin of the year, it was about 4 inches deep and was on edge.

The Barber was later in the day and got the signal but could locate it, I couldn't get through the roots, and the battery went dead in my pin pointer. Then my wife called and wanted me to get the truck washed. So I just left the hole open and headed out. I came back with a better shovel and a new battery. I was down about 8" and was getting a hit with PP in the bottom of the hole. One more scoop with the shovel and I see silver in the dirt.

Nice finds ! The buried items tell a story. Intriguing.

Nice finds. Silver totally eluded me last year. But I have a permission in WV that may produce. Now I just need to get back up there.

Ron invited me to go with him on this hunt, the weather was nice and a real bad cold front is headed our way but I decided to play golf instead now I wish I would have gone metal hunting.
Totally awesome start to the year, I've got my work cut out for me to catch up now.
This woods hunting is starting to really get interesting, now is the best time of year for it, the weeds are as low as there going to get plus no bugs or bees.

Get in those woods. They are warmer and are good producers if they have some age. My buddy and I hunted one of our older parks woods this morning and we captured Barber and Seated dimes and I H's and wheats. HH jim tn

Very nice

Nice find, I haven't made it out this year but next week is looking like a maybe.

Nice finds, use to do a lot of hunting on Kirtland AFB and Albuquerque 1974-1978. One of my favorite places to metal detect is near Charleston WV. HH Ron
