First hunt of 2014!

Happy new year guys, I hope everyone finds what they are looking for.
My first hunt of the year started out when I was walking my dog on the beach this morning. I noticed that the sand had been washed away by the storms over the last few days, and it was down to clay in places!
I found lots of old( 1920's) coins sitting on the surface of the clay! When I got home I grabbed my Excalibur and headed back to the beach.
In an hour and a half I found 20 sinkers, about the same number of coins and an old lead half moon pendant and something I'm hoping is gold with a red stone in it. I'm going back down tonight after the tide has gone back out, could be even better later! 2014 is starting out well so far....

Wow! Big lead and coin finds! Whats up with those sinkers? I've not seen that style before with the wires and yellow plastic...gotta be some sort of surf rig I imagine, maybe they stick in the sand better..
Good on ya for getting out and posting first beach finds for 2014!:clapping:
Mud.

sounds and looks like you got some great hunting conditions, hunt it hard!!!!

chuck.

That thing with the stone in it looks like one of those ear decorations people put in their earlobes. My technician wears a couple of them and he has multiple different styles and designs.

I am always glad to find a sinker. Tells me that I may be in the right area to find Gold. Also I remelt the sinkers and cast them into sinkers that I can use for my type of fishing. Saves me a few dollars and recycles the lead.
