first hunt in wet grass

went out today and hunted in the rain.
Problem is I couldn't get the XS to run without falsing, even went with the factory presets.
I have only had the XS for 6 months or so.
Should I send it in and have it checked out ???

It did not matter what setting I had it on it would false on every swing.
also noise cancled many times with no difference.
I moved the cable around where it ataches to the coil and it would sound off.
yesterday at the same site it ran smooth at around 19 manual but the grass was not as wet.

I have heard of people getting that with the xs when water gets behind the coil cover. Some of the users on here seal the gap with silicon.

what coil were you using and do you have the X1 probe? If you get the switch box on the probe wet it will cause falsing.. and some coils tend to false more in the rain.. the stock coil usually runs smooth though

also use the x-1 probe.
probe was dry and all cables were tight.
took it out in my yard today after it was in the house all night and it worked fine.

Hi Guys, I use the X1 probe and what I did was to remove the switch box cover and ran a thin coat of sealent around the cover screwed it back down being careful not to over tighten them as you could crack the thin plastic cover plate by the screw holes.Just wipe away the surplus sealent with a rag and spittle and that will cure the problem.
I also stopped the falsing which we all get when water gets between the coil and its cover using RTV sealent. If you take your time the finish will be a professional one and it works.
