I had to drive across town to my Doctors office.Loaded my Sovereign and other equipment in my car to hit a park on the way back.My Doctor said the tendons in my thumb still need to heal completely and not to over do it, but detecting should be fine.Searched for a couple of hours very nice to get back in the saddle. This was very good therapy,I found a couple bucks in clad and one wheat cent. HH Ron

I must have missed it...What happened to your thumb? You didn't cut it off like I did the tip of my finger this past year, did you?

Well Ron, a wheat is something it could of been a zinc. Gotta get out more myself. i've only been out twice.
Good luck,Gary

Critter,I had a cyst that had to be removed around my thumb tendons.I thought it was going to be a simple operation, but three weeks later still recovering.LOL it got me out of barn work.Doc says the stiffness will go away and get my feeling back but need to ease back into using it.At first was even hard tying my shoes, anyway major step toward recovery today. Thanks Ron

Gary, give us a post when you get out, heck most of the time no photos not a big deal and even if you find a zinc thats good enough. Thanks Ron

Glad to hear you are back in the saddle Ron. Take it easy to make sure you have a speedy and complete recovery. That old silver will be waiting for you. HH. Matt

Ron,
Glad everything turned out well with the doctor's visit. Good to hear you are able to get back in the field. Take care - HH - Jim

Glad you are on the mend. When I was recovering with my finger I was told to get a soft rubber ball and squeeze it off and on to exercises it and get rid of the stiffness.

Glad to hear that your thumb will heal up good Ron.
Your a trooper detecting through the pain.
I once detected with a torn shoulder after taking some pain killers.
I thought it was a good idea since I was starting to feel like I was in Willy Wonka Land.
That lasted until the first beep out of the GT.
I think it was a pulltab that I dug and stared at for 20 minutes.
I learned real quick that a torn shoulder+ pain killers+ detecting = me sitting in the grass glazed over staring at a pulltab like a 3 cent coin. LOL

I just re-read my previous response to the original post and I sound like a junky.
The point I was trying to get across is that I was injured and the Doctor told me to try not to be to mobile. after taking the necessary pills prescribed for the pain I got cocky and decided to go detecting. My wife was flipping out at me LOL. I had cabin fever and went into the yard. My previous post explains the rest.
:detecting:
