First hunt after 2 weeks of rain and cold weather

Finally got out again to try my "V" in the usually camp field where I do most of my hunting since it is close and productive. The ground was pretty wet and I do not know if this was the reason, but I kept hitting pulltab after pull tab or zincoln after zincoln with not much else but a nickel and a few clad dimes. I was getting tired and wet and decided to up the disc. to way past tab. hoping to get silver. I still found a few pennies and quarters and some other things that I couldn't identify for sure (Cub or lion head pin?; some piece of copper with old leather and some fine tines? see pix.) Then to my surprise I hit a silver coin! The signal wasn't special and I thought it was a large bottle cap at first until I saw the eagle on the side not shown. My first walking liberty. My daughter found one when she used to hunt with me. Made my day!

Very nice Andy, the walking liberty would make my day too! Thanks for sharing.

andy thats a nice ,piece of silver I like the date 1936 the hight of the great depression but seems to have been lost in the 40,s by observing its wear - THATS NICE

Awesome find! Did you know it was silver before you dug it? What made the signal different?

THx.No, I didn't know it was silver, thought the DISC was very high I thought it might be copper or a big bottle cap. I was really surprised.

Finding silver always makes my day:) Good score!

Very nice piece of silver.......congratulations!

What a beautiful coin. Those Walking Liberties sure get your heart to racing when you unearth them.

Nice going!

last time i found a walker was 1975 with my bounty hunter 150 . I had never seen a coin like that and was amazed

Nice big silver find, goes to show that it's still out there if you get your coil over one.

Well crap Andy... You are getting out. How do you like that V by now. It has been decades since I found a half dollar. How deep was it. Good job... KEN
