First hunt 2012

Another long break for me from the board and the hobby. So.......what have I missed?

I moved recently and there is a big backyard which is where I started today. Found the pocket watch pieces, toy gun barrel, and a few coins there. Mostly under the clothes line. I did not do a thorough job of it. I got bored and walked to the park where I found the rest of the digs. Two wheats. The aluminum tokens about stopped my heart. At least the first one did. They were all within 5 feet of each other. Must have been some sort of booth set up there once. Almost 5 bucks and 10 points isn't a bad February hunt, I reckon. Now I just have to find Lucky Leo!

Crappy photos, I know. Out of practice.

:super:Congrats, that's one of my favorite places to hunt is backyards you can come out with a variety of things and all in you area! You found a ton of things!:buds:

I have hunted 7 or8 backyards and there are three things that I've always found: rusty nails, pull tabs and a spoon. Always at least one spoon.

Good to see you again Chris, I trust you are all healed up, and ready to have a great year! Been a lot of new Garrett guys posting to keep us all entertained, and doing right well I might add.

Looks like your off to a great start for the season!!

Good hunt and finds.
Welcome back to:detecting::clapping:

So, you figure the move will open up some new areas for you? Not too bad for a first hunt. It's been bad for hunting this year around here. Little snow and all the tobogganing hills are covered with ice, so few people are using them. Hope you have an excellent year!:thumbup:

From the land of the Bluenose.....glad you got out. Still fur lined long john season here. Swinging my hockey stick is just not the same!
