Well I've got a whole 8 hrs under my belt with this machine and it didn't do to bad , 54 coins , 1 nickel , 1 junk ring , a skull and cross bones pendant and about 15 pull tabs , mainly the beaver tail type and some of the new ones and some can slaw ( i don't think you can get rid of all that slaw but this machine does pretty well with it ), the notch work well but i feel like i might be missing some gold , i think it is going to take me some time to learn this machine but i think it is going to be a keeper

Your first time out with the Golden would certainly seem to have been successful. And yes, using the notch will lose some gold items. But depending what the area is capable of producing sometimes this is a necessary trade off. For Tot Lots I don't like using the notch as a rule because these areas can produce a fair amount of jewelry. Congratulations on the finds!
