First gold

I have had my AT Pro about a month now. I found my first gold on Sunday. The ring has 14 kt - s stamped on it. On the internet I found this may or may not mean that it's silver plated with gold. I showed it to a local jewelry store that said it was 14 k gold. I had also found a very small silver ring. The ring was found at local ball field where the players exit the field. I'm guessing that someone took off their mitt as they left the field and that pulled the ring off. It was maybe 2 inches under the surface.

Nice find either away. If you don't already have one, pick up a jewelers loupe. You can reaily tell plate by looking at the edges where it might be worn or scratched and the silver come thru. Plate also tends to flake pretty soon after being in the elements. But if the jeweler sez gold, thne gold it must be!! Congrats on that first one!! How about the stones? Did he say anything about them??

Nice first gold find. Way to go!

wow...that looks almost exactly like my wedding band. I should take a pic of my ring and show you. Mine is 14k. Congrats on the find.

Sure beats a sharp stick in the eye!
Im with BCD - the jeweler says it gold. If he offered you $50... then you can be sure of it!!
