Went to an old church to day (1842 ) with the roof caved in ,I finally had a chance to hunt with my son that was great a was. But we dug a little was real muddy tho my first hit was a nickle at 8 inches. Dug 8 in. no nickle BUT I looked and seen something yellow I though great foil at a 167 yr. old church 8in. down BUT IT WAS GOLD. first for me ever.I found a sorority pin from a black collage from 1911 . My son also found his first wheat penny also it was a blessed day for us. (have to go back when it drys out only dug one section about 10x10 .

Sounds like a great day bossman. Put up some pics. Love seeing pics. WTG hunting with your son must have bee great!! WTG

that turned out to be a good nickel, Most of the places I go is high trash area's so i don't dig all the low tone's but do some time's the places i go has a lot of foil an tabs .

as for has hunting with your son: It don't get any better than that!!! Me and my son both used to drive over the rode and some thime we would meet in some othe state , in a truck stop,
and that just made my day,, an trip better..

as for as the mud i like detecting after a rain,, think the signsls are better,, ??? at least I know for sure its easy to dig LOL, al so when the signal is at 4 in. or less, I just shove the pin pointer
in the soft dirt till I hit the Target then diging is at a minamal,, good luck on your next trip
