Spent a week in Cape May, NJ and hit the beach every day. Signals were few and far between but I lucked out and found a 10k wedding band. The larger ring, I believe, was a plated over silver. After I cleaned the black crust away there was a grayish layer, a barrier metal as I understand it, and beyond that it had all the characteristics of silver. There's a mark on the inside but it's hard to make out. I also found a couple bucks in clad but overall it was a very satisfying trip.

Ive gotten a couple of those rings now marked 10K F. Ive not been able to determine what that hall mark is beside the F. Most gold filled will be like RGF (rolled Gold Filled) so i cant determine if its a makers mark in lieu of filled. Nice finds. The Explorer does a bang up job on the wet and dry sand. I believe if we could hunt in PP like with the Xcal this machine would be unbeatable on the beach.
