First gold with ACE 250

Allfome

New member
New to the hobby, purchased my Garrett 250 in July.
A couple of weeks ago went to a park that supposedly was all fished out.
Well within the first hour found a silver bracelet and then in the second hour found my first gold hit this 10KT men's gold ring. The ring actually rang as if it were a penny.

The following weekend went back to sweep the rest of the park and found another men's 14KT gold wedding band. This ring rang as a pull tab.
Amazing finds in a park that was "fished out".

Congratulations Allfome, are you sure on the ring that it is not 10 kt overlay?
It could just be the flash but, it looks like silver under the gold at the edge of the
face of the ring. HH

It took me 5 years to find my first gold, so you are off to a great start. WTG on the gold ring, it looks great. Hope you find some more in the park.

Ain't it nice?! Just curious-I run mine at just 3 bars sensitivity and in Relics mode. What are your settings. Thanks.

The ring was stamped 10KT local jewler confirmed when he cleaned it for me.
Thanks and HH

The reason your 10k ring rang up as a penny is because most 10k is alloyed with other metals or plated. None the less a very nice find.
14k gold can ring up anywhere from the lower 40's to 65 . I found a 14k 8.6 gram men's wedding that rang up 58. Shallow gold and silver,
Less than 4" will normally have a consistent VDI through several passes of the coil over the target. Deeper gold may vary in VDI according
To depth and caret weight.

I posted that most of my rings fell in the foil region, and then the next two after that post fell in the tab region-go figger.:surrender:
