First gold spill

Well, they were within a 7-8" of each other. had less than a dollar in clad and wasn't getting many signals I was swinging towards the rest of my gear and was ready
to call it a night, when Bam! i get a nice sounding hit and 2 scoops later I get the crucifix. Now I'm thinking the necklace must be close so i swing coil over the dug hole and
wham, another good signal a gold wedding band with stones. I continued to search for the necklace but no luck.

5 Min's latter I find the .925 ring with stones. It turned out to be a great evening and my best beach hunt to date and I thought the beach was cleaned out.

HH,Epi

WOW! Very nice! I have got to get to the beach more this year. I'm about to head out of a land hunt with my Etrac using long time friend as it's cooler out today. If I get anything good I'll chime in about it.

By the way, that crusifix might be worth more sold as is then as scrap. Might be a good item to put on Ebay. One of the nicest I've seen.

Did you try hunting in PP or all metal mode to find the chain, because you have a much better chance of hearing it in all metal or PP then you would in discrimination on a Minelab.

That crucifix is the max !!! nice finds pays to hunt till the last minute  Jim

Actually, I hunted in PP for the first time but only lasted about 3 minutes.I did not use it when searching for the necklace but I am going back today after work and may give PP another try.
For some reason i think discriminate is deeper or i just hear the targets better. I know 3min. is not enough time to understand (learn) how to use it properly. I am not one to mess around with
settings or experimenting with different modes such as all-metal.
With family, work and house projects when I do get out I just concentrate on the hunt. Hope you have a good hunt and will post the chain if i find it.

It's funny how a lot of the best finds are when we're getting ready to call it a day or walking back to the car. Very nice finds, congrats.

Some Xcal guys swear it's deeper in PP mode, while others say disc is. I think it might depend on the sand maybe? But for sure PP mode or all metal will hear a chain better than disc, so I'd use that. Same deal with the Sovereign. Some say it's deeper in all metal, but what little I've tested that I'm not seeing it myself. To each his own. I bet it's the soil or sand that makes the difference. For instance, tons of microscopic iron in the ground I would think for sure all metal or PP would see deeper due to not choking on the iron and nulling out.
