WTG on your first ring. Hopefully more to come. Gold filled means it is a base metal (copper or something else) with a thin layer of gold coating it. Unfortunately, it looks like it was under ground long enough for some of the base metal to get eaten away ( and losing the gold coating). Hopefully your next one will be solid gold. They could be under the ground a hundred years and come out as nice as the day they went into the ground.
