First gold ring of the year!

With all the recent posting about the GTA 1000, I felt prompted to take my 1000 PM for a walk in the park yesterday. This one wears a 5.5" HotHead "Ferrett" coil pretty much all the time.

This is a really good coil for a GTA, by the way. I recommend it highly.

After digging a nice pile of foil, tabs, canslaw and an even dozen coins, I got a signal that read 5.5 -6 on the GTA ID and pinpointed 3" deep. Not really expecting it, I was astonished to see the glint of 14k in the dirt... a big honking wedding band!

This one is a size #12 and weighs 9 grams even.

Thanx for the posts on the 1000, they motivated me to take this old warhorse out of storage!

The good, the bad and the ugly

Just the good, biggest band I've found so far!

HI I am new to post. Been reading all winter, been out some finding a little, will post some photo's when I get the camera program back up and running.

About the dollar coins. I was told that Wall-Mart in the town north of me (North West corner of Nebraska) was giveing the dollar coin in change this last week end.
