First GOLD ring and Official Lucky Penny today...

Took a trip down to the beach today and took to the water with the AT Pro. For about the first hour the detector was pretty silent. Then the fun began...first found a beaded necklace, next came my very first Gold ring, next my Offical Lucky Penny...and then some clad and cheapo sunglasses. All in about a 2 1/2 hour water hunt. Come home to take a small break but gonna be heading back out soon. I have to do some research on the ring...its a 10K gold class ring...class of 1974. Very good day so far and have ALOT more hunting to do!! I would have to say its been my most exciting water trip so far. I love the AT Pro so much I purchase 2 more last night...I have 3 of these bad boys now. The last 2 pics are of my hunting arsenal.

Excellent gold find!! Gave you quite a rush I'm sure!! Nice arsenal except....the 2 on the left. They do make nice tomato stakes. I had one right after they came out. I couldn't hardly stand the thing. Gave it to a buddy, he hasn't spoken to me since!!

The Fisher F2 is an excellent fresh water beach hunter. I notch out the Iron and swing like crazy...super fast response...and can swing it all day and night. I have no use for them except on the beach...but they do very well there.

WTG....always a surprise when the gold shows up.....nice finds!!

Being my first one I was pretty calm about seeing it come up in my scoop (maybe I was in shock)...but I had what seemed like a hundred people on the beach and swimming all around me watching. You know that stare...."look at that odd ball out there....what's he think he's gonna find a treasure chest or something". But when you find something then everyone and his brother and sister gather around you real quick. I waded ashore and handed it off to the wife and let her show off the bling so I could get back to business :)

Just sitting here right now watching the radar...hoping this thunder and lightning passes soon. I'm itching to get back down there....I only worked a small area yesterday. Tons and tons more water to hunt...I didn't even get to the area where most people swim.

Aw, I was just pulling you're leg a bit!! I'm sure they do fine in the dry sand and I found some stuff with mine but it just ticked me off that the coil would come unplugged every so often. I do, on occasion, go thru some viney spots and it would get tangled on a saw briar and come unplugged. Just not a very tough built rig. But it is true that my buddy hasn't talked to me since I goaded him into taking it!! I do own a pre-First Texas rig, the ID Edge, that is a pretty sweet little machine, one of my favorites for old coin hunting...after the ATP, of course.

That must have been a big complaint as the newer version 2 plug pushes in and then screws down.

Man I hope you got good insurance if you keep all those fine machines in your car, the way the economy is today people are breaking , grabbing and running they can clean you out in seconds. Other then that bad news, you did very good. Gene

The truck has an alarm on it and I always park where I can see it. Most of the time I don't have all my machines with me anyways...normally 2 or 3 and they are covered so if someone walks by and looks in the tinted windows they can just see a dark blanket covering something. Last but not least I have an insurance rider on my equipment.

[size=large]am surprized Bigcatdaddy didn't ask you for those sunglasses. he was looking for a pair earlier.
