First gold for the E-Trac:ausflag:

Headed back to my favourite beach to search an area that I thought should have some gold. Why, well there were many, many lead sinkers in this area, so the reasoning was that if the lead is gathering in this location then there must also be some gold. Well after digging up about 100 lead sinkers and many old coins I finally cracked it today. And what a beauty, a large mans wedding band.

Neil, the ring came in at F12 C33. As I mentioned I had also been digging a lot of lead sinkers which nearly always come in on the F11 or F12 line with varying C numbers. I thought the ring was probably another sinker and nearly wasn't going to dig it, but the C33 number seemed different as I couldn't remember seeing it come up before so decided to dig. Caught what I thought was a brief glimpse of gold as I was shoveling out the sand, the heart started beating a little faster. Sure enough that's what it was. So now I'm very happy and can't wait to get out again.
