First Gold - First Silver

Norge

New member
Quick trip out last night. Really starting to get the feel for the 305 now - managed to only dig 4 pieces of trash and the rest you can see in the pictures. Very suprised it picked up the gold as it is quite small and wafer thin - but gave a solid 28 despite being a few inches down.

The large silver broach was very beep - over 6 inches - and is a traditional broach from a Norwegian "bunad" which is the traditional dress used for celebraions here in Norway. These things are handmade and generally cost a couple of hundred dollars - this one needs a good clean and is missing a couple of pieces (perhaps as a result of me hitting it with the digging tool :) .....). Picture of a traditional bunad here on the link:

Also about 12 dollars in change picked up.

Two really nice finds. Gold and Silver! WTG

Just got back from the same location again...... only 5 dollars of clad this time. No gold today :-(

Do you know what I found similar to this?? Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I can't wait for this weekend. I am having detector withdrawals after seeing your treasure. You are responsible for me falling off the wagon. Nice finds by X-Terra brother from another mother.

Anyone interested in some local Norwegian history and seeing some interesting hunts with the X-Terra in Norway should check out this guys YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/DiggingNorway

He really gets into the spirit of the hunt and is pretty funny to boot !!

Cheers
