first gold find! Whoo-hoo!!!! :)

yesterday found my first gold piece. was searchng the brevard county beaches and was no longer on the beach for like 5 minutes, when my detector went off, seen somethin sticking of of the sand and then went to pick it up and bam, along came a chain behind it. :) Of course I'm standing there with this in my hand thinking this is not real gold, looking for a gold stamp, the hubby is yelling at me to put it in my pocket, when seen it is 14k gold, so into my pocket it went! :)

the chain weighs 17 grams and the cross weighs 3 grams

just thought I would share! :)

Thats a great find. Your hubbys right "hide it quick- too many nosey people out there" besides "Finders Keepers Rule".
 
You'll have half a dozen people swearing they lost it. Put it away, unless you feel the overwhelming need to "find the owner"

thanks everyone I was so very excited to find this, did everything but jump up and down with joy, lmao, did that when I got home. yes, this was a blessing from god. See this was the only time I put my holy rosary in my pocket for good luck and the same day I find this, you think god is trying to tell me something? rotflmao!

Oh, yes, this got me so hooked, almost halfway paid me for my metal detector. :)

Decided this one is for keeps! :) since it's my first gold find and I love crosses and promised god a year ago if I ever found a cross the first one I wouldn't get rid of, so guess he gave me a nice one, I'm happy! :)
 
yes, I agree, but was funny, I didn't even know there was a chain at first, maybe was in shock, rotflmao. I agree though I need to stay very quiet and watch out for those around me watching. and try not to let people see what I pull out of the ground. :) I new to this and just learning. :)

I have been praying for a cross, I told god if he gave me one I would keep it. I decided to put my holy rosary in my pocket before I left home for good luck and wouldn't you know it I would find a cross the same day? lol maybe a sign :)

Work on yer poker face tiggyann. This is a very important thing to learn when there are swimmers around you. Just get that look of disgust on yer face, like you just found another pull-tab and it sounded just like a gold ring! When they asked what you got, the answer is another pull-tab or a penny. They will get bored and move on, usually. Every now and then you will have the persistent kids or the curious adult. Don't get sucked into the interview, you will lose a lot of your hunting time, unless of course you enjoy this type pf thing. Enjoy yerself and bask in the glory of yer new found treasure!
