First Gold/Diamond or Just a Nitro Minute

I was detecting at a beach that I was previously kicked off of (see my previous post). I got an interesting signal near a picnic table in the sand that had metal legs. I was stunned when the ring in the attached photo appeared in my scoop! I first thought that it must be plastic, but of course it wouldn't have made a signal. Anyway, there was no jewelry store open to check it and I will find out tomorrow either way. I have my fingers crossed, but even if it is only CZ, it was great fun. :clapping:

If that baby is real you'll be peeing champagne!

It has more than 4 prongs on the main diamond, which sometimes is an indication that the stone is real or of value. Be careful of the jewelers.......they are known to lie and offer you cheap money. If you are going to stay with this hobby then your best bet is to invest in a gold testing kit and a diamond or gemstone tester.

I second that advice. Got to more than one jeweler. You will be surprised at the differences in prices you get considering that gold & diamonds have a standard rate at whatever time you're inquiring.

I know there are gold testing kits but they have diamond/gemstone testing kits too!?

Bad News... Went to the jeweler and was told it was sterling silver with Rhodium coating and the stones were "diamond-lite" which I guess is CZ. Oh well, next time the big one. Thanks for all the support, that's one of the things that makes this hobby fun.
